Employment Opportunity: Come Join our dynamic Therapeutic Recreation Team!
Recreation Worker - Permanent Part-time
Required Education: Diploma or degree in Therapeutic Recreation,
and if prior to 2001, evidence of recent upgrading or continuing education is strongly encouraged.
Experience working with seniors; working knowledge/practical experience of care of persons living with dementia and other age related disabling conditions. Minimum 2 years experience in Therapeutic Recreation or related services.
Other Required Qualifications Include:
- Ability to work effectively with members of the Therapeutic Recreation team;
- Ability to organize, facilitate and/or lead therapeutic recreation services independently;
- Experience working with and leading vounteers;
- English competency in both verbal and written language skills;
- Competence in MS Office, and ability to learn other software applications (e.g. Goldcare; ProActivity Reports and Volunteer Impact)
- Class 4 unrestricted license
- Criminal Records Check
Required for position; will need to complete upon hiring:
- Food Safe
- Serving it Right
- Level I CPR and First Aid
Hours of work are currently 19.5 hours per week. Weekdays, evenings and weekend hours are required to deliver a range of programs for the residents.
